Priority Setting and Resource Allocation in Health Care
You make important decisions.
Designed for managers in Canadian health care organizations, this workshop is offered online over a five-week period starting February 6, 2012. You will work in small groups to learn strategies that will help you structure your priority setting decision-making and tackle resource allocation challenges. To fit your busy schedule, the workshop requires a commitment of only 2 to 3 hours per week.
The CHCM Priority Setting and Resource Allocation workshop will help reduce your stress and ensure you have more confidence in the important decisions that you make.
Using Social Media in Health Care: An Online Workshop for Managers
New social networking practices in health and medicine are changing how health care managers communicate in the digital age. Social media tools such as blogs, wikis, Facebook and Twitter are changing the way we share, collaborate and find solutions to emerging issues in Canadian health care. This online course aims to help Health Care Managers learn how to use these tools effectively for digital communication, organizational branding (reputation management) and the improvement of patient care.
Workshop on Discrete-Event Simulation Modeling in Health Care
Health care managers faced with making decisions under uncertainty are increasingly using the analytical tool of discrete-event simulation (DES). DES models allow decision makers to test “what-if” scenarios and evaluate a variety of outcomes prior to implementing any changes to actual practice. Attendees of this workshop will learn how to model complex health care processes using a popular DES software package (Arena). Participants will come away from the workshop understanding the foundations of simulation modeling as well as acquiring hands-on knowledge of how to construct and analyze a simulation mode
