Linda Peritz brings extensive experience to the Centre for Health Care Management. She comes to the Centre from the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (VCHRI), where she served as Associate Director since its inception in 2003. VCHRI is a research partnership between the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority. Its purpose is to provide infrastructure and services to enable academic researchers to compete successfully in national and international arenas, as well as to integrate research activity and knowledge into improving the delivery of health care
Linda’s work has required developing and maintaining effective relationships with leaders in the university and the health care sector. In this regard she has been directly involved in the development of numerous strategic partnerships, including research affiliations between VCH and the major post-secondary institutions in BC (SFU, University of Victoria, Royal Roads University, BCIT and UNBC).
Prior to being the Associate Director of the Institute, Linda created the Research Education program at VGH. The purpose of the program was to offer learning opportunities to researchers and to health care professionals, and many of the components of the program have been emulated by other health research institutes in Vancouver and by UBC.
